The Problem We Were Called In To Solve

The property manager reached out after approving several proposals (~$33k) from the previous service company that did not result in the elevator being returned to service. This caused a big issue with the tenants since it's a medical office building with several suites that NEED the elevator. The manager did not know what the correct next step was.

What Services We Performed and How We Solved the Issue

Island Elevator performed a thorough assessment to determine the correct scope of work, then replaced most of the hydraulic system including:

• 1. The existing power unit including the pump, motor, & valve
• 2. The existing oil line & installed a rupture valve to meet code
• 3. The piston packing seal
• 4. Found a crushed roller bearing during the process, so informed the property manager & replaced those as well
• 5. Painted pit & machine room to setup for maintenance success going forward

Challenges We Solved

Rebuilt trust with tenants who had been calling clients to cancel appointments due to no elevator access

Final Results

The elevator was returned to service successfully without a hiccup. We eliminated tenant complaints and allowed the medical offices to operate normally again.

They were so pleased with our professionalism and quality of work with this project, that they brought us in for a modernization of another elevator in a separate wing of the building. We are set to complete that project in Q1 2026.
