East Islip was once referred to simply as "East of Islip" until officially adopting its name in 1890. The area traces its roots back to William Nicoll, an English aristocrat who purchased 51,000 acres of land from the Secatogue tribe in 1683 to establish his family estate
In later decades, the area became known for its grand waterfront estates — most notably those developed by Percy G. Williams, and the gated community known as The Moorings remains one of the hamlet’s most prestigious neighborhoods today.
While the large estates have largely given way to smaller affluent communities, the legacy of East Islip’s historic charm and exclusivity remains. Island Elevator is proud to serve this evolving community with responsive, trustworthy elevator services tailored to every type of property.
