The Problem We Were Called In To Solve

We were the existing service company and noticed the motor & pump started to intermittently fail on a 25-year-old elevator. We made ownership aware of the issue & recommended a power unit upgrade to comprehensively resolve the issue & improve reliability.

What Services We Performed and How We Solved the Issue

Island Elevator completed a comprehensive power unit upgrade, including:

• 1. Removal of the existing power unit, pump, motor, valve, and oil line
• 2. Installed a new submersible power unit to include new pump, motor, and valve
• 3. Installed a new oil line
• 4. Replaced piston packing seal
• 5. Reconnected wiring to controller
• 6. Used hard pipe in machine room to rectify code violation (flex hose)

We also painted the pit and machine room to set the site up for maintenance success going forward.

Challenges We Solved

Identified the issue & recommended a solution to prevent extended out-of-service times & rectified existing code violation via modernization

Final Results

Saved them from long out-of-service times and eliminated tenant complaints
